This 5-day camp will focus on development of small boat (OC-1, OC-2, surfski) downwind paddling skills and competing in the Maui Canoe & Kayak 'Son'z Shoreline Relay' race on the 4th day of the camp (http://www.mauicanoeandkayak.org/#).  Previous small boat paddling experience is desirable. Each person wanting to attend the camp must complete and submit the Canoe Camp Application Form and pay a 50% deposit in order to reserve a spot in the camp. This is a somewhat physically demanding camp, and paddlers will get the most out of the camp if they turn up in good physical condition.  Please contact us if you are unsure whether or not this camp would be suitable for you.

Paddlers will have an opportunity to paddle on two-person outrigger canoes with downwind experts, to experience and learn first-hand how decisions are made in terms of where to put the boat, when to push, when to back off, and what to look for.  Videography will also be used as a learning tool.

Schedule: The camp will involve approximately 4 hours of paddling or related activity per day, with a coastal relay race on the 4th day. Once your sign-up is confirmed, we will forward you a more detailed outline of the downwind camp daily schedule.

Cost: $650/person which includes coaching, canoe use, canoe transport, and entry to the 'Son'z Relay' race.  A 50% deposit is required to hold your reservation and can be paid online or by cheque.
